Catholic
The first mass celebrated in Sandy Bay was in 1850, Rev. Father John McCabe of Salem officiating. The first chapel was erected in 1856, and the present church was built in 1948 on the same site. Tuesday & Thursday:

Congregational
In 1755, Rev. Ebenezer Cleaveland and ten members organized this church. The cornerstone of the present building was laid in 1803. The church was dedicated in 1804, and Rev. David Jewett was its first pastor. Sunday: 10:00 a.m. |

Episcopal
The first Episcopal services were held in the Odd Fellow's Hall building in 1872, Rev. D. Reid, the Rector of St. John's Church of Gloucester, officiating. In 1885, nineteen members organized as St. Mary's mission. Bishop Phillip Brooks inaugurated services in the present building in 1892. Sunday: 8:00 a.m. & 10:15 a.m. |
Evangelical
The Chapel was built
in 1868. Reverend David Fife, Pastor. Sunday: 10:30 a.m. |
Universalist
Twenty-three persons organized the Universalist Benevolent Society, founded on the teachings of John Murray, in 1821 in Sandy Bay. In 1829, the present church was built, and Rev. Lafayette Mace was the first pastor. Sunday: 10:30 a.m. |

Methodist
In 1831, the Rev. Aaron Lummus began to assemble a class of 12 members that grew to 35 "regulars" and 16 "probationers" by 1838. Sunday: 10:30 a.m. |
Baptist
Eighteen members began the Baptist Society in Sandy Bay in 1808. The foundation of the church buiding was laid in 1822, with Rev. James Boswell as the first resident pastor. In 1867 the church was moved to its present location. Sunday: 10:30 a.m. |
