Rebecca Loebe and Jesse Terry
March 24 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm$10
Old Sloop Coffeehouse is proud to present a concert with Rebecca Loebe and Jesse Terry Saturday, March 24, at 7:30 PM at the handicap-accessible First Congregational Church of Rockport, 12 School St. This co-bill features two beloved performers who will sing their own songs, back each other up, and collaborate on a song or two.
Rebecca Loebe is a young singer-songwriter who grew up in Atlanta and has spent time in DC, Boston and New York, now making her home in Austin, TX. She is known for her distinct voice, well-crafted songs and ability to bring an audience along on her journeys, introducing them to the characters she meets and observations she makes as she travels. Rebecca has toured non-stop since 2009, averaging 150-200 shows per year as a headliner and as support for performers such as The Civil Wars, Ellis Paul, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers, Matt the Electrician and others. She was selected as a contestant on the premier season of NBC’s primetime competition show “The Voice,” viewed by 12 million people in its first airing.
Jesse Terry, the powerful and ever-joyful storyteller who has graced stages from Philadelphia Folk Festival to Bonnaroo, is a singer/songwriter with an uncanny ability to weave tales of travel and homecoming, of sorrow and of redemption, into songs that are simultaneously timeless and fresh. Home is now the coastal village of Stonington, Connecticut, but Terry’s music reflects an amalgam of influences, from Nashville to Laurel Canyon. His melodic and lyrically-driven Americana fits naturally on a playlist between cuts from Josh Ritter, Jackson Browne, Ryan Adams and Neil Young.
Advance tickets are $10. Visit the website at oldsloopcoffeehouse.org or The Bookstore in Gloucester. The suggested contribution at the door is $12 for adults, $8 for those 65 and older, $5 for those under 18, and $24 for families.
