Luca Buratto, 2015 Honens Prize Laureate, is a pianist of “fiery imagination and finesse” (Musical America). The Italian pianist has also won third prize at the International Robert Schumann Competition (Zwickau) and the special ‘Acerbi’ prize, awarded to a distinguished Finalist at Milan’s Shura Cherkassky Competition. Buratto will perform works by Beethoven, Bartók, Adès and Schumann.

Simon Powis and Jacques Lee Wood have been working together for the last five years, starting out as colleagues at the Yale School of Music. Recently they recorded their first duo album “Paperworks” and launched the recording with five concerts in China. Powis and Wood are co-founders of StringLab, a multi-disciplined cello/guitar duo that produces original arrangements/compositions and commissions new works for the ensemble.

Storm Large

Storm Large is an artist that scoffs at boundaries. She’s tried her hand (and excelled) as an actress, an author, a playwright, and of course, a vocalist. Known to many for her time singing with acclaimed lounge pop act Pink Martini, Large will be bringing her own band along with her dynamite musicality, charismatic stage presence and force of nature personality to Rockport for the first time.
