The Rockport Public Library provides free public internet access for residents and visitors. You may go on-line once a day and may stay online for up to one hour. The only charge is 10 cents a page if you print anything out.
The library is also a WiFi Hot Spot providing free high speed internet access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for people who have wireless devices. The wireless service extends throughout the library building to the porches and benches outside.
The library is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Guests must be staying in Rockport a minimum of two weeks in order to borrow library materials. A buck-a-book shelf offers a selection of beach reading for short-term guests who need a quick read.
A local history room is open on Mondays from 1:00 to 8:00 with books by local authors and genealogy resources. A genealogy group meets Monday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00. Guests are welcome. Volunteers will assist with online and local resources. The library website provides an email link for genealogy queries.
Book groups on poetry, contemporary issues, history, and general interest reading meet in the library throughout the year. Guests are welcome to join in the discussions. Current schedules and titles are posted on the library website. Stop by and check us out!
